Exceeding Your Design Needs
Sterling Construction Group Inc is a design/build firm that specializes in luxurious home and condo remodeling projects. We are led by Corey Doughty who has had a passion for remodeling since growing up in the construction industry.
Corey Doughty
CEO / Owner
Corey Doughty founded Sterling Construction in 2015 with a clear vision: to create a construction company built around experience, accountability, and a more direct relationship between the builder and the client.
Corey’s foundation in construction began long before Sterling. Growing up in Maine, he spent his summers working throughout the residential and commercial building trades, gaining an early appreciation for how projects come together from the ground up. After high school, Corey enlisted in the United States Army, serving four years in the infantry before being honorably discharged and beginning the next chapter of his career.
After relocating to Southwest Florida, Corey earned a degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Florida Gulf Coast University and became a Florida State Certified General Contractor. He spent the formative years of his career working with some of Naples’ most respected luxury home builders, advancing through the field and into project management while developing extensive experience in high-end residential construction, complex renovations, scheduling, budgeting, trade coordination, and client management.
That experience ultimately became the foundation for Sterling Construction.
Over the past decade, Corey has expanded Sterling beyond its residential roots, applying the same level of planning, execution, and attention to detail to commercial renovations, tenant improvements, ground-up construction, and development. His experience now spans projects ranging from highly detailed luxury residences to significant commercial and industrial facilities throughout Southwest Florida.
Today, Corey brings an increasingly comprehensive perspective to the real estate and construction process. As both a Florida State Certified General Contractor and licensed real estate professional, he is able to evaluate opportunities beyond the traditional boundaries of either profession—considering the property itself, its construction requirements, development potential, costs, risks, and long-term value.
For Corey, construction has never been simply about completing a project. It is about understanding what a client is trying to accomplish, recognizing the possibilities within a property, and bringing together the people, planning, and experience necessary to execute that vision.
That philosophy continues to guide Sterling Construction today.

Joe is a native Floridian, starting out in the construction industry as soon as he was old enough to hold a hammer. While in college, he found a passion in project management in the construction industry, working for a general contractor part time while still attending classes. Post-graduation, he used his education and skills to efficiently plan, organize, and schedule kitchen, bath, full home remodels, as well as home additions. When you don’t find him on the job site with his boots on, he enjoys fishing, scuba diving, camping, and flying airplanes.
